Minimalism is a trend that has been used in interior design and architecture. Minimalist design has been highly influenced by Japanese traditional design and architecture. The trend somehow helps you to create a smart, relaxing, clutter-free look in your home. Thus, modern minimalist pictured softer, more personal and easier to live with. 

To create the minimalist style you need to consider about some important part before proceeding to this simple and clean home arrangement. These aesthetic tactics of arranging serve an impression of extreme simplicity, by enlisting every element and detail to serve multiple visual and functional purposes. 

Walls and Color

• White is the ultimate color for a minimalist interior design gaze. White should form the origin of your minimalist decorating scheme to enlighten the smooth walls, floor and furniture. 
• For a modern and softer substitute to white, try neutral colors or colors found in nature such as pale beige, taupe, stone or flush green. 

• Stick to pale and neutral colors for the whole of your color scheme but don’t forget to add some accent colors. These accent colors can be as much or as little as you like – from a couple of cushions or a vase, to a whole wall, or even a piece of furniture, like a sofa. 
• Bright red is always a great accent color but other bright colors are also acceptable. 

• An alternative is to continue on the ‘natural neutrals' path is by picking a deeper brown or olive green for your accent color. 
• Don’t pick patterns or anything too fancy. 

Furniture

• Your furniture should be classy-looking but streamlined and modern, rather than decorative or traditional in style.
• Choose simple furniture in natural woods and leather, or go for bright colors and ultra-modern chrome, glass and stainless steel. 

• Glossy textures and straight lines are a great look for the minimalist interior design style.
• Low level furniture looks less bulky, and that really enhances the minimalist sense in your room. 

Flooring

• Go for clean lines and hard surfaces for minimalist flooring. 
• For instance - concrete, tiles or wood. You can also go for that really natural feel with sisal matting.
• Add a little texture to your flooring. A modern rug styles can help to give warmth and ‘live-ability’ mood.

Windows

• Your windows and window treatments should also be kept very simple for true minimalist interior design style.
• Bare windows are great but if you like a little privacy, choose simple, modern shutters or blinds.

• If you feel like your minimalist look you still needs a little more softening up to suit you. Try choosing white voiles, muslin or nets, in straight panels or simple drapes. 

Accessories

• Accessories are not a major part of the minimalist interior design look. This is because the whole idea is to clear out the clutter, and have as little ‘stuff’ as possible on show.
• Therefore, invest in plenty of roomy storage to keep this look neat and tidy and make it all hidden away.

• You won’t need too many accessories, but it is very important to choose the ones you do include very carefully.
• One large focal point picture, in your chosen accent color, is better than a jumble of small pictures.

• Limit yourself to one or two vases, candlesticks, photos or boxes on display, so as not to ruin the minimalist interior design feel. Choose only your absolute favourites to make your room feel comfortable, and feel like a real home, but not enough to create clutter, or ruin the minimalist look.
• Your lighting is a really good opportunity to include a fantastic modern, statement piece. Choose carefully to find something that adds to your whole scheme. 

If you are not naturally well-organised, or super-tidy, then the minimalist interior design look will take a little extra work to keep in order. However in return, it will make you get a very relaxing and tranquil oasis of calm feeling. This minimalist style is just right for you to have a bit of down-time and breathing space at the end of a hectic day.
